Pumpkin Patch 10/06/09

We had a very fun October! I even took pictures......now that the month is over I will blog about it haha.

This year we went and picked pumpkins from a patch. It was so much fun! Christopher loved riding in the wheel barrow. We walked all over looking for the perfect pumpkins and finally found some. It was a really pretty day that started to cool off about the same time we got there. Lil Christophers nose got really red it was cute. I think we may have to make picking our own pumpkins at a patch a new family tradition. I took my nice camera but forgot the battery! Luckily I had the "back-up camera" in the car.
The Three of Us

He liked climing all over the pumpkins, and playing in the dirt. He is all boy!

Cheese. haha look at that cute little nose-dont wory we wrapped him up in a big blanket after this picture.

Chris and Christopher in the Pumpkin Patch

Cornbellys at Thanksgiving Point -9/25

We had such a fun night at Cornbellys! We went thinking that there was a deal for the corn maze (or so we had heard) for opening night. Well there was but, we didnt have the coupon so I suggested we just walk around and see what there was to do besides the maze. I was a bit worried about taking Christopher into the maze. I could just picture it going like this. We would be having fun having fun, having fun, nope now we are not, now are lost, now hes crying and we are still lost, HELP! .. ... I just didnt want that to happen. Instead we started walking around and playing on the other things that were there like a big slide, swings, and tractor bike things. We spent the whole evening there and didnt spend a dime. I love nights like that. Christopher played so hard that he was asleep in his carseat before we even left the parking lot! Thanks for going with us Mitchell family! We had lots of fun hanging out with you!
We had races on these. Tori totally kicked my butt! We laughed and laughed when I got stuck on the turn!

Do I have to sit here mom?

We all loved the slides. They were so much fun.

Crazy Animals!

I love my little man!

Lesson Learned

Use a hot pad....     Enough said.

I am fine--feel pretty dumb but my burn seems to be healing fine.  glass half full perspective would be -that it looks just like a nike swoosh. that will be a cool scar huh? hahaha. oh, and I got to re-bandage it today I made it so its not so bulky so I can function a little bit more that I could with this sweet dressing on it. Thinking I might just hire a cook. I am pretty sure I dont love cooking as much as I used to, at least for a few days.

Happy Birthday Christopher!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR CHRISTOPHER HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!

I can not believe how time flies by. Our little baby is already 1! He loved eating his birthday cake! There was not even time to light the candle and sing. As soon as it was close to him he grabbed the candle and smashed his hand into the cake! It was really funny! He does not mind getting messy!

Busy Boy

He is so busy......

getting into the fridge.

Finding the snacks that are left in the diaper bag. I left him alone long enough to take the garbage outside. This is what I find when I come in.
NOT wanting to sit in his high chair anymore. He thinks standing is more fun. PLUS when you are done you can really get the poing across to Mom and Dad by smashing the rest of the food
with your foot. He thinks hes pretty cool.
Picture wont upload...

Emptying the tissue box. What is the problem? Now we don't even have to reach for the box to get one.

oh what a good little helper I have!

I wanna drive!

Chris asked if we wanted to go with to hit a bucket of balls. When we got to the course the guy asked if we wanted to just go play a couple of holes because the range was already closed. It was so much fun to be out playing together. The last time I was on this course with Chris was the day before my due date. Lets just say I had much more fun this time- not feeling like I was going to pop. We set the camera up with the timer so we could have a family picture. Christopher wanted to drive the cart most of the time but towards the end was happy to just sit in my lap and drink his bottle. It was such a pretty night, and we had so much fun. We did get some funny looks- I guess its not really the norm to sneak a baby on the course. haha

Fun Weekend

I have had a secret hobby the past couple of years. It is something I love to go do all alone. what is it? Bike. This weekend I was NOT alone but it was so much fun. I rode in the tour of utah race. Here is a picture of me--well, the pack that I was riding in. There was a break away that I so wanted to be a part of but I was content to just be a part of the main group. Chris was along the race to take pictures. hahahaha yeah right! Me, in the tour of utah?!!! good one. We went up the canyon for a picnic and ended up seeing the bikers. That is the true story. There really was a break away group that was ahead of the main pack- but I was not even wishing I was in it. I am amazed at the race course-- It was all up hill. I think I would be so tired after the climbs that I wouldnt even be able to enjoy the ride DOWN the hill/mountain.
Our weekend really was fun. I woke up early to go do my coupon shopping. Tori and I met at walmart to try the price matching game. Lets just say I dont think I will do it again. I have just had so many people ask me about it in classes I figured I had better do it so I could give an honest opinion. It took FOREVER. We did save a ton of money and got all the sale items at one store though. so... anyway.

I got home and we packed up a lunch and went to Cascade Springs. Christopher wanted to climb into the waterfall so bad! Instead of a cute family picture in front of it he had a tantrum. I am not joking. I have no idea where he gets his attitude ;) He was trying so hard to get out of our arms that he scraped his forehead (i guess with his own finger nails?) and made it bleed. poor guy, just wanted to splash. He was happy if he could at least watch the water fall.
There was no picnic grounds there so we went down the canyon to the park and ate lunch there. The kids had so much fun playing in the dirt, and running around. I got an apple out and he figured it was for him. There was no getting it back.

playing in the dirt with his buddy. He wanted to be doing whatever the other kids were doing.

He is definitely all boy....loves the dirt!

9 month pictures

he sticks his tongue out all the time-- he kept trying to eat the grass and leaves.
we probably could have taken a hundred like this-- he was always trying to crawl away.

My friend Danielle came over and we took some pictures of Christopher. Someone should have taken a picture of us trying to take his. He is a BUSY boy. We did get some that are worth keeping though.

Open Class

I know this is my family blog-and have another blog that I am advertising this on but in case you dont read She Shops Smart (and you should) we are having an open FREE class. It will be on August 31st at 7pm in Provo. Here is your chance, if you havent been to a class, or missed one that someone you know had you can attend this one. If you have been to a class you are welcome to come but bring a friend who is new to Grocery Smarts it with you. Email sheshopssmart@gmail.com and I will email you a ticket. It will be a lot of fun!

Goodbye Friend...hello new friend

Oh my goodness....I cant even believe this is true. It is with very mixed emotions I tell you that we sold the truck. It was a very sad/happy day. I have had a love hate relationship with that truck. It was the first BIG purchase Chris and I made together. It protected me when I was in a wreck. It got us to the cabin on a road that looked impossible to drive. We have had so much fun with that truck. Drive-in movies, hauling all sorts of things, and driving around town feeling kinda tough. The down side-- it became my vehicle since Chris drives a long way for work. With the addition of a baby the half doors became very frustrating. Parking lots were sometimes a joke. I would have to climb and work really hard to get a car seat in. The cab was too small! We had out grown it. So that made it so we said good bye to our friend the grey truck. I will be honest. I shed some tears, BUT then I looked at what I am now driving and know that it fits our family so much better. Gets better gas mileage and is so much easier with the baby. And when/if we decide to add more children to our family there is room for them. So Good Bye you sweet grey truck, take good care of your next owners! We will miss you.

Viva Las Vegas

Chris and I left the baby with his parents and headed to Vegas for the weekend (the first weekend of August to attend a market for The Corner. It was so fun to have some time alone together. In the time that didnt have to be spent working we went swimming, shopping and out to eat. I am not sure which one of us missed the baby more though. When we got home Chris was out of the car and inside his parents before I even had my seat belt off. It was a very fun trip, and having a baby here waiting for us made coming home fun too! I didnt take my camera- I know genius move huh? so, we have no pictures.

4 YEARS!

Time flies, and love grows. I love Chris so much. Thank you so much for 4 awesome years together! We have had so much fun. We have grown and learned together and made so many fun memories. I cant believe how amazing our life is! I love you Chris! Happy Anniversary!

Happy 4th of July

playing with cousins
Christopher had so much fun climbing all over the other kids.

Grilling us some yummy dinner

Bekah and Kelly
Marsh and Judson (he LOVES Grandpa)

Loves riding in the Ranger with Mom.

We had so much fun at the cabin for the 4th of July. We went 4 wheeling, played volleyball, tennis, basketball, and just had tons of fun. We loved spending time with the family!

Blogging.... SHE SHOPS SMART

So, one of the last post I did before the extended "break" I took from blogging about our little family was about the blog I created- Five Star Shopper. As you all know I teach classes about Grocery Smarts. The blog was a great resource to be able to refer people to for question after the class. The problem was that I was having trouble with wanting to divide up my time between work, blog, and most importantly my roles as a wife and mother. Then a wonderful thing happened.
Tori and I teamed up to run She Shops Smart together. This makes it so that we can both have a blog that is updated frequently while still allowing us time for everything else in our lives. If you have not yet checked it out you should. It has become a total love of mine. click here to go to the blog. If you havent been to a class-call me and lets set one up. It has totally changed the way I shop and spend. I love it!

His own Pool

We had so much fun at Seven Peaks that I bought a baby pool for Christopher to splash in here at home. It was so funny to watch him spin around. He tried and tried to bite the bottom of the pool which meant he kept getting water in his mouth. He would look at us with a look that said what just happened, then would do it again. We have had so much fun playing in the water!

Water Fun!

Christopher LOVES the water. We went to Seven Peaks and had soo much fun. We were worried that we would have one of those babies that just screams everytime they get splashed or even in the pool. We found out we have the opposite. He would cry when we got out of the pool, and wanted to be in the middle of the crowd splashing and being splashed. It was so fun. We were all tired by the time we left. Christopher didnt even make it out of the parking lot before he feel asleep. So fun!

2 Front Teeth

Teeth have been making themselves known... we had a couple of weeks of a very cranky boy. He know has 4 top teeth with 2 more working their way in, and two cute little bottoms ones. Christopher has been growing SOOO stinking fast. He LOVE LOVE LOVES to eat food. He eats anything and everything that we give them and then tries to grab our plates as well.

Catch up Time

Ok so here goes....a summer of catch up. I would apologize for not posting but Im not sorry-- I have taken pictures and had fun haha. Read what you want or just look at the pictures. I dont care. Here we go.

Grocery Smarts and Five Star Shopper

Its "semi-official". I will say that much. I have a blog to help assist me in teaching about the awesome system. It will be official after I am able to fix some little things that are just wrong. When doing little "art" projects as we can call it the odd form of "perfectionism" I had when I was little resurfaces. (Mom, Dad, Steven- you know what Im talking about. ..."get off the blanket" hahaha) So, I will say its official when I have a button, and have fixed the little kinks. But even with that said -- go ahead and take a look! Check out

Playing with Friends

Let's Play Football!

We got to babysit our friends little kids while they went to dinner. It was so much fun to play with the boys. I couldn't help but get my camera out. Of course, as soon as I did then they all kept trying to crawl, roll, or run away. I should have had it out sooner- they were all very happy, and loved being outside! The two little guys had fun playing on a blanket with toys, and crawling around on the grass.

DON'T WORRY, OR GET MAD ABOUT THIS PICTURE TORI!- Chris was on the tramp too-- he just sat to the side for the picture. -- we really are pretty responsible- or at least tried to be. :)
It was a ton of fun! Hopefully the little boys can come play again soon!

TWO FRONT TEETH!

Two little teeth are working their way in! One has poped up quite fast, the other is slowly working its way in. This explains the extreme fussiness we have dealt with the past month or maybe even more. Christopher is a very big fan of eating! It is really funny to watch him try new foods. Some days he just smiles after the first taste and opens for more, other days he is not real happy with menu and seals his little mouth shut till I give up. He is such a funny little boy! I wanted to get a picture of his cute little smile with one tooth but its like he knows what I am trying to do when I get the camera out and he wont smile.

A shiny new toy....sorta

We bought a lawn mower. Pretty exciting don't ya think?! Last year we stole my in laws. This year they had the nerve to ask us to bring it back! haha jk. We decided that rather than run around borrowing one to keep our yard looking decent this summer we would just buy our own mower. So, Saturday morning off to mower shop we went. This is what we came home with. Fun huh?
Chris and I both like being outside, and working in the yard so it kind of was fun. I guess we should wait till its over 100 degrees and our yard looks like a jungle to decided if it really is a fun new toy though. hahaha

Happy Easter!

What? The fake grass cant go in my mouth.... how about the plastic easter eggs, or the book? I will try eating the book first!

We hope everyone had a Happy Easter!

6 MONTHS OLD

It is so crazy how fast time flies! Christopher is 6 months old today! I cant even believe it! My Mom went with me to have pictures taken of him last week. It was so much fun! I had such a hard time picking which ones we wanted! These were two of my favorites. His little chubby legs are so cute in the shorts, the picture doesnt do them justice!

Lock Down.

We are going private. I have considered doing this for a while but never have because I think we have like 3 readers out there. hahaha really though... maybe like 10. There are some people I know who have HUGE lists of friends and family on links to their blogs so I totally understand them being private. I dont have that. BUT I am guilty of blog hopping, and so who knows who may be reading about our pretty ordinary life. There is so much crazy stuff going on in the world that I have decided that regardless of the small number of readers our blog may have it will be best to make sure we know who is reading. On MAY 1ST we will be going private. If you want to continue reading please email me and I will put you on the list. pixiegirl620@yahoo.com

I Love Grocery Shopping!

I got my newspapers!!! What does that mean? Well ,there is an awesome system called "GrocerySmarts" that I recently learned about from my friend Tori. I went to a class about the system a while ago and left feeling totally fired up about how I was going to save TONS of money! Well, i got home and my printer wouldn't work (to print online coupons), and I had to wait a few weeks for newspapers to come. You need newspapers so that you have the coupons to help you maximize savings! I have now officially used the system myself and am so excited for the next weeks ads to come! If you want to know more about the system check out the little link picture I have added to my blog.

....back to my story.... SO, a couple of weeks went by that felt so hectic, that not only did I not plan meals, (as I like to do so we don't end up going out and spending lots at a restaurant) but I really did not even try and sale shop. Dumb, I know. I don't know what got into me! But, I do know that more money left my wallet than I am even willing to admit! Seriously! We ate out WAY to many times and I spent a stinking fortune on groceries! It would not seem like a fortune to me if I hadn't learned about the system. But I had, so ... You are wondering why I am telling you this? Well, mostly I am chewing myself out publicly! ha ha, take that self! I messed up and I wont be doing that again. Ever! In fact, with the arrival of my newspapers I wont be spending a fortune for a little bit of groceries ever again. haha I may go over my budget on super sale weeks, but on those weeks I will probably have to blog to share my excitement. As well as to show how much stuff I bought, and how little I spend. Seriously, it is an awesome program! I have tried using coupons before with no luck--but this system makes it easy! It does all the work (well almost) for you. So, unless you have like a serious problem and hate saving money then you should check it out!

Till we meet again....

My dear, sweet, little Grandma "Mor" (which means Mom in Danish) returned home to our Father in Heaven last Monday March 2. I will miss her like crazy! She was more than just a grandma to me.... she was truly one of my very best friends. She taught me so much! We had so much fun together and I will cherish the memories. She was a wonderful woman! I am so thankful to have had the chance to be so close to her all through my life. I am so thankful for the gospel at this time, and my testimony that I will see her again! I know that there was a very happy reunion going on in heaven last week when she got to see my sweet Grandpa (far) again! I love you so much dear Mor!
