Good Grief TIME FLIES!!!! Life is sweet, and everything is going well at our house. ... I guess I will give a bit of an update since the last time I posted -- LAST YEAR- was in the fall. Oh boy... it its so sad that I am going to do it like this but seeing as how its been months I will just be giving highlights as to what our family has been up to.
Thanksgiving-- we had a great time with the Meier family. Dinner was fabulous. I have some pictures but cant figure out what file I put them in. So, just picture lil' c looking cute in a little sweater vest. We are so thankful for all of our wonderful family, and that we get to live close enough to see each other often. We are very very thankful to be a happy little family of 3. Christopher is so much fun to have in our lives.
The day after thanksgiving I slept in... no early morning shopping for me. I did however set up my Christmas decorations. Christopher woke up from his nap to see the house decorated. His face was so cute. He LOVED the tree. We had ornaments all over the house. He felt like they were more fun to play with than look at. The tree remained undecorated from about 3 feet from the bottom after he took the ornaments off the first time. I figured there was no point in fighting it. The picture below is him seeing the tree the first time-- his face was so funny.
The middle of December came and Christopher took his first plane ride with me. We went and visited one of my best friends (since preschool) for her birthday. Her sweet husband came up with plan for my visit to be a surprise. So, he picked me and little C up from the airport without her knowing. We got stuck in traffic for well over an hour, during which time she made LOTS of calls to him wondering why in the world he was not home yet. When we got to the house she was very surprised and a very long hug followed our greating! It was so fun! We spent a VERY fun weekend, shopping, saw a movie, talking till way to late at night, and going out to eat. I love you Ashy and miss you like crazy! Thank you to you and Jon for all the fun we had. I loved getting to see you and hope we can visit you in Colorado!
The plane ride home felt like it took forever. Christopher was a champ, but I will say traveling is much harder with out the Daddy of our family and we really wished he had been there. I got home and realized Christopher had cut two teeth while we were away. This explained why I wanted to ship him to the moon while I was visiting. He was so naughty when we would go to restaurants for a meal- life is all new with him. Just when I think I have the hang of things something else happens. This was one of those weekends where I wondered if I would survive being a mom. jk Thank goodness Jon and Ashlyn were so kind- I probably would have killed the kid if I were them. haha Thanks again guys. I love you both!
Christmas came so FAST! We had dinner Christmas eve at my parents house. Dinner was great, and then we opened some presents. Christopher was more thrilled with packaging than the actual presents.
Christmas morning we found that Santa had been to our house and brought more fun toys for Christopher! Then off to the cabin we went for snowmobiling and fun. It was SOOOO COLD! I kid you not- like 1 degree for the high! We had lots of fun playing in the snow, being with family, and relaxing.
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010!
I cant even believe its 2010. It just sounds weird! We rang in the new year with some good friends Tim and Kara. We played Wii, and of course Kara and I totally kicked the guys butts. Or not. Whatever. Played cards, and ate lots of yummy food. It was a very fun night! We need to play more Tim and Kara! Thanks for ringing in the new year with us!
January. This month was a total whirlwind of a month. I started nannying for an awesome family. They have a 4 year old and a 1-1/2 year old boys. Christopher goes with me, and really enjoys having playmates!- the bonus being I get paid while he gets to play! :)
I have loved it so far.... I mean changing diapers is not nearly as bad when you get paid for it. And the part that I truly love is I get to have Christopher with me.
I am still teaching class for Grocery Smarts, and saving lots of money on my groceries using coupons. Between the two jobs I definitely stay busy!
Chris started his LAST semester of school. Thats right folks! LAST SEMESTER! I am so proud of how hard he has worked and we are excited for him to be so close to finishing. He has been working after work- doing other electrical jobs, and we have definitely missed him! I do however how hard he works to take care of us! He is so wonderful!
Other January Highlight: Snowmobiling, a visit to the gateway childrens museum, movie nights at home, christopher cutting MORE teeth and being as cranky as possible about it, work, work, work. Christopher had his 18 month check up, and is tall and skinny. His height was in the 80s but weight was like 18 ( I have it written down somewhere) He is talking more and more. His favorite word for the month was NOOOOO! he has now added shaking his hand to signal NO as well. He barks at everything, loves to roll, kick, and throw a ball around. He is still carrying his litle golf clubs all over, and had learned they can help him reach things that are to high otherwise. He just swats things down using it. He is such a funny little boy! I cant believe how fast he learns new things, and is changing to a little boy already!
February.
We celebrated Valentines a week late. I HATE waiting for HOURS to get to have dinner, so by postponing a week we were able to avoid the crowds. We stayed home Valentines weekend and made a yummy dinner and just relaxed. Chris and Christopher gave me a sweet card that was complete with some of Christophers scribbles in it, and some beautiful roses (that are still alive-and beautiful- cool huh?)
Well, now that we are into February I will try and do a little more regular posting. For some reason blogger is not allowing me to add pictures right now so reading this super long post is all you get, but its better than nothing right?! jk. Stay tuned- pictures will follow.
