Catch up for the year of 2008

January...

Happy New Year! We cant believe how fast years go by. This was our 4th new years eve together. Wow do I love having someone to kiss at midnight! I also love knowing I have someone to have new adventures with thru another new year. We went snowmobiling a couple of times. We went to the cabin (by scoffeild res.) and spent the weekend playing. It is always so much fun to get away!
One weekend Chris and I decided we would drive up to the cabin on a Friday night. Well, we took our time getting there. Stopped for new gloves. Stopped and had dinner. This and that. Suddenly it was 8 pm and we had not even past Provo yet. It only takes about 1 1/2 hours to get there but the canyon is FULL of deer, and at that time snow. We decide that even though it was dark we would just drive slow and get there. Well, the canyon drive went fine. We didnt hit any animals. We did count over 20 dead dear on that particular drive.
We got to the lake and the road that takes us up to the cabin had been plowed but had ruts that were super deep. Chris puts the truck into 4wheel drive and starts driving. It was a silent truck cab. I was just holding on as the truck slid back and forth. We made it clear to the top of the hill. This takes about 10 minutes most the time. We had spent 45 making that part of the drive. Now we are at the top of the hill and should only had to spend like 5 minutes getting to the canyon. Oh, no. Not this time. The road that would take us there the fastest is not plowed wide enough for the truck. So we take the long way around. Another half hour has passed at this poing. We are finally at the driveway of the cabin. The only problem is that the plow has not been to it yet. There is like 10-12 feet of snow blocking our way. Hiking in would be an option if there was somewhere to pull the truck off the road, but there isn't. There is only room for one vehicle on the narrow plowed area, and no turn-around spots have been plowed. So, Chris got to back the truck up till there was enough room to turn around. We are both laughing at this point. We had been so determined, and now there was nothing we could do but go home. The sad part was the camera had been left home so there is no pictures to show the road we tried to drive. It was a serious 4 wheeling adventure! So, slowly back down the mountain we went....home again. At least we have fun driving together seeing as how we had plenty of drive time that weekend!
